Okay now the real deal. I need a new one. Mine is so used it has lost it’s cover.  I bought a copy for one of my students and his is the same way. From old hymns to some of the new Praise and Worship music (when I say “new” I mean 1990′s).  It is full notation with bass and treble clef with chord symbols.  And can be purchased from Christianbook.com

I’ve owned this particular songbook for a number of years.  My copy is dog-eared and well used. This book contains old hymns and gospel songs. The songs are mostly notated straight forward with a few having a gospel chord (e.g. dim7) or chord progression (e.g. 6-2-5-1) inserted here and there.  But as all fake books go it is up to you to create the sound you want adding to the basic chords presented.  I regularly play Amazing Grace, At the Cross, Yes God is Real, Just A Closer Walk With Thee, Pass Me Not and I Shall Not Be Moved to name a few, from this book. Again this is for “C instruments” such as piano and guitar.

This is one of the newer Fake books for church playing. It has over 400 of the newer Praise and Worship songs such as As the Deer, Shine, Jesus, Shine, Give Thanks etc. And is notated for “C instruments’ such as piano and guitar. The notation is mentioned as being being a bit larger but it is not that much so (at least for me).

You get an alphabetical index and a key (the key the music is notated in) index.  There are also guitar chords in the back.
